Minister of Agriculture sponsors the Jordanian Cooperative Day 2024
Under the patronage of Eng. Khaled Al-Hunaifat, Minister of Agriculture, with the support of the Dutch company Advance Consulting, JCC organized the International Day of Cooperatives 2024, under (Cooperatives Build a Better Future for All); emphasizing the importance of cooperatives in the sustainable development process, enhancing the capabilities of cooperatives and local communities that embrace cooperatives from an economic and social perspective, and contributing to solving the problems of poverty and unemployment. JCC Chair stressed that the cooperative sector, during the reign of His Majesty King Abdullah II, witnessed a qualitative leap and a stronger presence in society in light of the royal visits to many cooperatives, and the continuous directives of successive governments to enhance cooperative work as one of the operational and development windows .
JCC Chair called to benefit from global and regional experiences in the field of cooperative work by strengthening partnerships with their counterparts to enrich the Jordanian cooperative experience with the United Nations General Assembly declaration (2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives. Jordan is participating with the countries of the world in celebrating the 102nd International Day of Cooperatives, emphasizing the role of cooperatives in the process of development and economic, social and environmental sustainability, enhancing and preserving local resources, and adopting sustainable - long-term economic practices that contribute to achieving well-being and prosperity, Shalabi said. Eng. Lamia Al Dabbas, the Regional Director of Advance Consulting, stressed the role of cooperatives in local economic development and in accelerating the achievement of UNSGD (17), calling for supporting cooperatives to enable them to serve the local community effectively . The celebration included honoring all the parties supporting the 11th APCMC, including companies, institutions, organizations, international bodies and cooperative societies.
