"Jordan cooperative" starts selling wheat and barley seeds to farmers
The Jordan Cooperative Corporation announces the start of selling improved seeds of wheat and barley to farmers through its seed propagation stations in the kingdom's regions "North, Center and South", starting tomorrow, Tuesday, 1/10/2024, at prices subsidized by the government. The director general of the foundation, Abdul Fattah Al-Shalabi, confirmed in a press statement today, Monday, the availability of improved sowing quantities of wheat and barley for the current season at the Irbid and Madaba sowing stations, in addition to the sales center in Karak governorate, pointing out that the selling price of a ton of sifted and sterilized wheat seed (500) dinars, and a ton of sifted and sterilized barley seed (420) dinars. He said that the institution provides many varieties of improved sowing of wheat and barley to farmers, which are distinguished by their high quality, abundance of production, and suitability for regions according to rainfall rates. It is noteworthy that the seed propagation project aims to contribute to enhancing food security, encouraging smallholders to exploit their lands by securing and providing them with seeds to increase the cultivated areas, provide job opportunities, and contribute to solving the problems of poverty and unemployment.
